not quite sure what i'm anchoring down, but i'm all for it.

it was only recently that i learned all that i know about football.  my very shallow knowledge stems from powder puff football in high school, in which i played quarterback - all because my brother forced a perfect spiral upon me in my early life (i'm convinced he was bitter that he was the only male sibling in the family).  the rest of my knowledge stems from the incessant murmur of ESPN that was present in my house.  i can recognize any name of any sports star like the best of 'em - i just can't really tell you what they did.  but that doesn't matter, right?

i'm also really good at jumping on bandwagons, like supporting our football team. especially when it involves tailgating in the rain beforehand & cute old people keeping the crowd in order {see last picture}.

anchor down, y'all.

cozy (x2).

twinkle lights are my fave.  i hate the harsh glare of the florescent dorm lighting, and rarely, if ever, turn them on.  i was notorious at home for not even realizing i was sitting in the dark doing homework as the sun went down. i would hate it when my mom flipped the lights on, coloring everything in a bright, blinding glow. i was really annoying.

these lights reminded me of christmas.... and then holidays, and then thanksgiving, and then fall, and then the fact that it's almost SEPTEMBER. as much as this summer has flown by, i cannot wait for my most favorite season EVER. a list of things i'm excited to do this fall. you should join me.

did i mention i love a good list?
  1. bake pumpkin bread
  2. dress in fall layers
  3. go apple picking
  4. go to a pumpkin patch
  5. carve said pumpkin
  6. dress up for halloween (is this the last acceptable year to do that...? like, legitimately do that?)
  7. drink apple cider
  8. obnoxiously jump in the leaves
  9. buy cinnamon smelling candles (i'm obsessed. obsessed. with candles.)
  10. go to a state fair
  11. take pictures of the fall colors
  12. go on a hayride
  13. pumpkin. spice. frappuccinos.
and apparently i really like pumpkin?

so now that i'm 8,000 years old...

last day of first day of school.  my new suite celebrated with chocolate cake (THANK YOU MARISA!) and craftin' for the common room.  we're still deciding on a theme for our suite (because that's what you do...!).  current contenders = ocean, nickelodeon, or travel themed.  we're a creative bunch.

quote today brought to you by the genius that is our suite:

things i will miss.

{moments like these}

{this old house}

{our wonderful can't-say-enough-good-things-about summer mama}

{this rambunctious group}

and things i will not:
boxed lunches
house centipedes
hot philly morning walks to work

my flight back to orlando was the typical flight back to orlando - delayed 3 hours because of summer thunder storms (when is it not thunder storming in orlando...?) and babies going to disney world who managed to scream the entirety of the flight.  a young child decided to narrate the last 30 minutes of our flight descending into the city, and notified the whole airplane of each and every "landmark" he could see from his window. DISNEY WORLD!!! WAL-MART!!!!! HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FIELD!!!!

he completely interrupted my ben rector "i can't believe i'm going to be back in nashville soon" playlist.   and he actually made me scared for the first time in my life as we were landing - "ARE WE GOING TO MAKE IT?!?" (i've been watching wayyyyyyy too much LOST). but his antics are so familiar and so indicative of home.  as we landed on the airstrip, i decided i wouldn't want to land any other way.

sayonara summer.

so long, goodbye, adios philadelphia. i have a really bad habit of not appreciating a place until one foot is nearly out the door.  i took that into account this summer, philadelphia - i promise i did! i'll miss you - and all the wonderful people i've met - when i'm gone.  except not the part when i was studying for the GRE.  you, GRE books, can stay safe and sound on spruce street (with the rest of the giant centipedes crawling through our 18th century house).
