portland in october

{northwest, downtown}

{to the coast: cannon beach and ecola state park}

{around town // witches castle on lower macleay trail in forest park}

based on my love for all things california, there was a pretty good chance that i was going to fall in love with the pacific northwest. fall i did -- for the single drip coffee, the artisan doughnut, the honey lavender ice cream, the flight of strawberry-flavored cider. the coastline was pretty nice too.

we stayed in the northwest district of the city, within walking distance to downtown, in the most chic air bnb that housed a trio of "creatives". as we were leaving one morning, our host gestured to the cameras hung around our necks. "are you guys photographers?" he asked. "um we like photography lol haha bye" we murmured as we quickly shuffled out the door.

"what they did was start, then take it one day at a time."
